So, with the bun in the oven I have been starving lately. I also have no energy...so I have gone out to eat for almost every meal this week...which I never ever do. So how do I stay on a budget and do this? Well...here are a few tips:
Restaurant.com: You have probably seen me talk about this over and over again, but this is an AMAZING resource if you are going out to eat! You can get a $25 gift certificate for as low as $2! If I do not have a promotion code posted for the site...just google or use retailmenot.com. There are usually always codes. We this week have used two $10 gift certificates (which I got for 80 cents each) and went out for Mexican and burgers for only $15 each place...including tip!!!!!
Entertainment Books: I get one of these in my stocking every year (Thanks Mommy!) and I love them! They have coupons for buy one get one for some great restaurants...ranging from fast food to fancy food! They also have amazing discounts at certain stores and baseball games etc. You can still order one of these at a fraction of the price since the year is over half over (all coupons expire 12/31/10)..it will pay for itself in no time!
I always order water..well unless I am drinking wine...but that is a big no no lately. My husband always gets soda and I have seen this come through on the bill for $2!
I always try to decide dessert or an appetizer...one or the other. This way I am not stuffed and my wallet is not empty!
At fast food restaurants..which I rarely went to before pregnancy but they seem to have become a weekly stop. I usually get a kids meal and then either a fruit cup, side salad or yogurt parfait off of the $1 menu. That way you still get your drink, a few fries..the cheese burger (I am a woman obsessed) and a healthy addition...this will usually make an entire meal for around $3!
